Samaroo, DeMello Lead Saints To 2-0 Win over Skidmore

Freshman Jamal Samaroo scored his first collegiate goal just 58 seconds into the second half as St. Lawrence University opened the defense of its Liberty League soccer title with a 2-0 win over Skidmore in the Saints' league opener on Sandy MacAllaster Field Saturday afternoon.

Top-Ranked Saints Turn Back Potsdam 2-0

Junior midfielder Sam DeMello scored one goal and set up the other as St. Lawrence University's men's soccer team celebrated its rise to the top spot in the NCAA Division III men's soccer poll with a dominating 2-0 win over Potsdam State on Sandy MacAllaster Field Tuesday afternoon.

Brown's Goal Lifts Saints Past Gordon College 1-0

Sophomore Yanick Brown scored the game's lone goal 30:20 into the first half and St. Lawrence University's men's soccer team, ranked fourth nationally in Division III, won its fifth straight to open the season, 1-0 over Gordon College at Sandy MacAllaster Field Friday afternoon.

Sept. 10: St. Lawrence University junior Sam DeMello scored three unanswered goals, including the game-winner off a set play with 2:11 remaining, helping the nationally-ranked No. 5 men's soccer team rally from a 2-0 deficit past Geneseo State 3-2 on Saturday in Canton, NY.

Saints Dominate in 4-0 Win over Rochester

Friday's St. Lawrence University men's soccer victory over the University of Rochester was a long time coming and will raise some eyebrows among the Division III soccer community in terms of the Saints' domination of one of the region's better teams.

Saints Beat Eastern Connecticut 1-0, Win Another Lotto Title


Senior Sean Scott chipped a shot over the charge of Eastern Connecticut goaltender Carl Appel 9:56 into the second half for the only goal of the game and senior goaltender Brian Abernethy registered a shutout in his first start since September of last season as St. Lawrence University's men's soccer team beat Eastern Connecticut State University 1-0 to clinch the championship in the 2011 Lotto Invitational Tournament

Saints Edge Oneonta 3-2 in Season Opener

While one 2010 St. Lawrence University soccer national All America player watched from the sidelines, another keyed the Saints to a 3-2 win over Oneonta in game one of the Lotto Tournament at SLU's MacAllaster Field Saturday afternoon.

Men's Soccer Takes Time Out for Community Service, Opens Season Saturday

St.  Lawrence University's men's soccer team took time out from a hectic pre-season practice schedule to help Traditional Arts in Upstate New York move some materials including the large bear pictured with several members of the Saint squad.

2012:  Costello allowed only one goal in 149:38 minutes in his sophomore season with the Saints.  The Saratoga Springs, NY native will compete for starting goalkeeping duties next year.

2011: Aaron did not see game action as a backup goaltender in his rookie season.  The Saratoga Springs, NY native is an anthropology major and is involved in community service around campus.

2012:  Samaroo came back from a preseason injury and played in 12 games in his sophomore season.  He assisted on goals against St. John Fisher and Hobart before scoring his only goal of the season, just :28 seconds into the Saints' NCAA tournament second round game against Williams on November 11. 

2011: Jamal emerged as a starter at forward for the Saints when injuries depleted the front line and had a solid year with three goals and three assists for nine points. Two of his three goals were game winners. He earned his first collegiate point with an assist in the win over Rochester and scored his first collegiate goal in a 2-0 win over Skidmore. He had the game winner in that game and a 1-0 win over RPI and also scored a gaol against Bard. He was Liberty League Rookie of the Week Oct. 17 and was an honorable mention All Liberty League selection.
