Osvaldo Morales '16

2012:  Morales was tabbed for Liberty League second team honors at forward in his debut season with the Saints.  The New Province, NJ native tallied a goal, the game-winner against St. John Fisher, while adding two assists on the season.

At New Providence School/ New Hampton:   A captain of the soccer squad, Morales earned All-Conference honors and also a spot on the 2010 New England All-Star Team.  The New Providence, NJ native played on the 2006 All National U-17 Costa Rican Team and was also named to the All-State New Jersey team in 2008.  Academically, Osvaldo was an honor roll student. 

Daniel Hunt '16

2012:   Hunt started in all 20 games in his rookie season with the Saints and was an integral part of St. Lawrence's defensive effort.  The South Glastonbury, CT native helped the Saints finish the season ranked 11th in the nation in goals against average (.57) and 12th in shutout percentage (.60).  He also contributed offensively, assisting on a goal against Brockport early in the season before recording his first collegiate goal in the Saints' NCAA tournament first round game against Eastern Connecticut State.

At Glastonbury:  Hunt was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and lacrosse.  A captain in his senior season, he was a two-time All-Central Connecticut Conference North honoree.   The South Glastonbury, CT native is a member of the National Honor Society and was a high honor roll student.   

Harry Copeland '16

2012:  Copeland started at back in the majority of St. Lawrence's game in his rookie season, helping the Saints finish ranked 11th in the nation in goals against average (.57) and 12th in shutout percentage (.60).  The Dedham, MA native scored his first collegiate goal in the Saints' 4-0 victory against St. John Fisher and assisted on another against conference opponent Hobart, finishing with three points this season. 

At St. Marks:  Copeland was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and lacrosse.  A captain in his junior and senior seasons, he was named All-ISL First Team, All-State and a NEPSSA All-Star in 2011.  The Dedham, MA native was team MVP as a senior and was on the honor roll.   

 

 

Christian Yarros '16

2012:  Yarros appeared in eight games in his first year with the Saints and will compete for playing time at back next season. 

At Tuscarora:  Yarros was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and indoor track.  While captaining the soccer squad, he was named to the 2011 All-Piedmont Conference First Team.  The Adamstown, MD native was also a member of the 2011 USYS National League and the Maryland State Olympic Development Program.  Academically, he is a member of the National Honor Society and was on the "A" honor roll. 

 

Saints Ranked No. 2 in Preseason Poll

August 8:  The St. Lawrence University men's soccer team will open its 2012 season ranked No. 2 in the national rankings, as the Saints are picked in that spot in the NSCAA Preseason Poll.   Defending champions Ohio Wesleyan earned the No. 1 slot, while Messiah, Rutgers-Camden and Trinity (Texas) rounded out the top five.

Kristine Lilly showcased at Lake Placid Soccer Camp

Aug. 6: The 2012 Lake Placid Soccer Camp at St. Lawrence University will be a memorable one for the 400+ campers who attended in late July, thanks to Kristine Lilly.  Lilly, one of the all-time greats in women's soccer and former captain of the United States, worked alongside Alfred Galustian and Charlie Cooke of Coerver Coaching during the sessions, and was honored by the local Canton community with "Kristine Lilly Day" on July 22nd.

2012 Alumni Soccer Game Recap

As a prelude to the alumni match, teams took to the St. Lawrence University Golf Course for a nine-hole captain and crew tournament.  The teams were comprised of alumni, current players and parents, with a new trophy being donated by Garrett Quackenbush '95.  

Ironically, Garrett and his team including Aaron Costello '15, Jeremiah Bunton '15 and Dan Marvin '12 won the tournament
