#2 Saints Claim Lotto Title with 2-0 Victory

Sep 1:  The nationally ranked #2 St. Lawrence University men's soccer team took the top spot at the North Country Lotto Classic with a 2-0 victory over LaVerne University in the final game of the tournament.

DeMello, Saints Open 2012 with 3-0 Victory

Aug. 31:  Senior midfielder Sam DeMello scored a pair of goals, both on direct kicks from nearly identical spots outside the 18-yard box, only three-plus minutes apart as the St. Lawrence University men's soccer team topped Endicott College 3-0 in its season opener at the LOTTO North Country Classic Friday afternoon in Potsdam, NY. 

No. 2 Saints to Open 2012 at LOTTO Classic

Aug. 31:  The nationally ranked #2 St. Lawrence University men's soccer team is set to open its 2012 campaign this weekend at the Lotto Classic hosted by Clarkson University.  While the Saints returned more regional and national All-Americans than seen in the past, head coach Bob Durocher believes that the team's success will only come when the reserve group of players competes at a level just below the starters.

2012:  Brouk earned Liberty League honorable mention honors in his debut season with the Saints, working his way into a starting spot at midfield.  The Pittsford, NY native contributed on both ends of the field and added three goals, including the game-winner against Clarkson.        

At Pittsford Mendon:   A captain and MVP of the soccer team, Seyefe earned All-League, All-State and All-Region honors.  He was an Urban League of Rochester Black Scholar and a frequent face on the honor roll.

2012:  Alphonse appeared in six games for the Saints in his rookie year and will compete for a starting spot at midfield next season.

At Oyster River:   Alphonse was a member of the soccer team where he was the leading goal scorer in his junior and senior season.  A member of the National Spanish Honor Society, he was a high honor roll student.

2012:  Balakumaran appeared in eight games for the Saints in his first year and will compete for a starting position at forward next season.

At Brother Andres Catholic:
  Praveen was a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, track and basketball.  The captain of his high school soccer team, he also was a Toronto F.C. Academy player and was a member of the Unionville Milliken Soccer Club that won the U-14 National Club Championship.  Academically, he was an honor roll student all four years.

2012:  Roethel did not allow a goal in 115:25 minutes played in his rookie year with the Saints and will compete for a starting position at goalkeeper next season. 

At Monroe Woodbury:   Roethel was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and track and field.  A captain of the varsity soccer team and the Ramapo Valley soccer club, he was a two-time first team All-Section selection.  The Monroe, NY native was a scholar-athlete.

At Burlington:  Mumbere earned All-New England and All-Metro honors, and was also named the Vermont Player of the Year.  A recipient of the Coaches' Award, he was an honor roll student and the National Poetry runner-up.

At Northfield Mt. Hermon:  Mendoza was a two-year captain of the soccer team and earned 2011 NSCAA All-American and team MVP honors. Academically, he is a member of the National Honor Society.
