Senior Trio Earns Podium Finish in 3x3 Sprint Relay

Jan. 23: The St. Lawrence University men's Nordic ski team's senior trio of Ben Knowles, Eric Wolcott and Zach Wetherell earned a podium finish on Saturday at the 2010 St. Michael's Carnival at Sleepy Hollow XC Center.  The group finished in third place overall in the Men's 3x3 Sprint Relay to land the Saints' first podium showing of the season.

Saints Finish 7th in Freestyle Events at St. Michael’s Carnival

Jan. 22: Both the St. Lawrence University men's and women's Nordic ski teams finished in 7th place overall on Friday afternoon in the Freestyle events at the 2010 St. Michael's Carnival at the Sleepy Hollow XC Center. 

Carpenter Earns Top-15 Finish in Freestyle Race in Lake Placid

Jan. 16: St. Lawrence University sophomore Caroline Carpenter earned a career-best 13th place finish on Saturday at the 2010 SLU Carnival in Lake Placid, NY.  The Shelburne, VT native raced the Women's 15K Freestyle race in a time of 50:45.7 to earn 28.0 points for her squad and pace the Saints' women's team to 7th place in the event.

Wolcott, Ludington Lead Saints in First Carnival of 2010

Jan. 15: The St. Lawrence University men's and women's Nordic ski teams opened the 2010 season on Friday morning, as the Saints hosted the first carnival of the EISA season in Lake Placid, NY.  The Scarlet and Brown were led by a pair of career-best finishes by seniors Eric Wolcott and Johannah Ludington, who finished 5th and 7th in their respective races.

Saints Ready to Host Opening Carnival of 2010

Jan. 11: When the curtain rises on the 2010 Nordic ski season this weekend, the St. Lawrence University men's and women's teams will be on familiar territory.  The Scarlet and Brown will host the opening event of the EISA schedule this weekend, January 15 and 16, in Lake Placid, NY.

2012: Nichols remained a consistent name in St. Lawrence's carnival line-up in her junior season.  The Pownal, ME native had a season-best finish of 42nd place in the 15K Classic at Dartmouth.

2011:
Nichols was a regular in the St. Lawrence line-up during her sophomore season, competing in all but one EISA Carnival.  The Pownal, ME native had a season-best finish at the EISA Championships in the 15K Classic (42nd).

2010:
Nichols made an immediate impact with the Saints in her rookie campaign, competing in all but one carnival on the EISA circuit.  The Pownal, ME native finished in the top-30 in both races at the EISA Championships at Middlebury.

At Holderness
Nichols was a three-sport athlete, participating in Nordic Skiing, Cross Country and Lacrosse. The Pownal, ME native was a First Team All-Conference honoree in both Nordic and Cross Country while serving as captain for each of those teams as well.  

Eleven Skiers Earn Academic All-America Honors

Apr. 7: Six members of the St. Lawrence University Nordic ski team and five others from the Alpine squad have earned 2009 Academic All-America honors from the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association.

Bednar Competes in Final Event of Collegiate Career at NCAA's

Mar. 14: St. Lawrence University senior captain Kristen Bednar competed in her final collegiate Nordic ski race on Saturday at the 2009 NCAA Championships at Black Mountain in Rumford, ME, putting the finishing touches on an outstanding career with the Scarlet and Brown.

Bednar, who logged a 30th place finish on Thursday in the Women's 5K Classic, earned 36th place on Saturday in the Women's 15K Freestyle. The Essex Junction, VT native raced in a time of 42:13.5, finishing .3 seconds behind Jill Smith of Michigan Tech University for 35th.

Denver University's Antje Maempel won the 2009 national championship in the Women's 15K Free, as she edged Colorado University's Alexa Turzian by .5 seconds at the finish line. Maempel's time of 38:35.0 earned her the title out of 38 racers.

Saturday's Nordic races bring an end to the 2009 collegiate ski season.
