Saints Preparing to Open 2012 Campaign in January

Dec. 15: The St. Lawrence University alpine ski team will soon be headed to Whiteface Mountain in Wilmington, NY and Camp Fortune in Ottawa, ON for the 2012 training camp.  The Saints, who will be anchored by junior Ashley-Kate Durham and senior captain Matt Dodge, have outstanding talent and depth heading into the new campaign.

2012: Appenzeller raced in several carnival events for St. Lawrence as a first-year student, including a season-best finish of 27th place in the EISA make-up race (UNH).

At Stratton Mountain School

Appenzeller competed on the soccer and lacrosse teams, while earning a spot on the high honor roll.  The Huntington, NY native was given the alpine team's Most Improved award, and she was presented with the Peter Burtscher Award, the Mikki Abbenhaus Scholarshipand the school's Alumni Award at graduation.

2012: Visconti made a strong push for an NCAA Championship bid in her rookie season at St. Lawrence.  The Ridgefield, CT native had three top-15 finishes including two at the EISA Championships.  Her collegiate-best came in the slalom at the region championships hosted by Middlebury, where she was ninth overall.

At Killington Mountain School

Visconti captained the alpine ski team and was given the squad's "Excellence Award." The Ridgefield, CT native, who also played on the lacrosse team, earned a spot on the school's honor roll.

2012: Fruth had a solid rookie season for St. Lawrence, recording three top-25 finishes.  The Huntsville, UT native earned his best finish of the year at UVM, where he was 19th in the slalom. 

At Weber

Fruth was a member of the Honor Roll while ski racing and playing for the varsity soccer team, for which he served as a team captain.

2012: Hillenbrand was a consistent figure in the Saints' line-up throughout her rookie season.  The Steamboat Springs, CO native had two top-25 finishes including a collegiate-best showing at Williams (21st).

At Lowell Whiteman

Hillenbrand competed in both Alpine Skiing and Tennis. A Dean's List student and the recipient of the Ned Grant Award, she was an All-State tennis player and captained that team as well.

Three Saints Earn USCSCA All-Academic Honors

Mar. 29: Three members of the St. Lawrence University alpine ski team have been awarded 2011 U.S. Collegiate Ski Coaches Association All-Academic honors.  Also, the NCAA has released a recap video of the 2011 NCAA Championships, which includes highlights of All-American Ashley-Kate Durham's performance.

Durham Earns Podium Finish, All-America Honors at NCAA Championship

Mar. 12: St. Lawrence University sophomore Ashley-Kate Durham earned All-America honors for the first time in her collegiate career on Saturday at the 2011 NCAA Championships in Stowe, VT.  The Timmins, ON native battled brutal conditions and finished in third place overall in the women's slalom.

Durham 19th in GS at NCAA Championship

Mar. 9: The 2011 NCAA Skiing Championships got underway on Wednesday in Stowe, VT, as alpine participants competed in the Giant Slalom.  St. Lawrence University sophomore Ashley-Kate Durham, competing in the NCAA Championships for the second straight year, finished in 19th place overall out of 35 skiers.

Saints Race GS at EISA Championships, Durham Awarded NCAA Bid

Feb. 28: The St. Lawrence University men's and women's alpine ski teams concluded the 2011 carnival season on Sunday, as the teams raced in the giant slalom at the EISA Championships hosted by Bates at Sunday River.  Following the event, NCAA bids were announced and sophomore Ashley-Kate Durham will represent the Scarlet and Brown for the second consecutive season.

West 17th in Slalom at 2011 EISA Championships

Feb. 26: St. Lawrence University junior alpine skier Ann West picked up a 17th place finish on Saturday in the slalom races at the 2011 EISA Championships hosted by Bates College at Sunday River.
