2011: Matt went 2-4 with a 9.29 earned run average in seven appearances, all starts. He struck out 30 and walked 11 in 31 innings.

2010: Matt missed the entire 2010 season while recovering from injury.

2009: Matt's sophomore season was cut short by injury. He had two appearances, with one start and was 0-1 with a 9.00 earned run average in five innings of work. He walked three and struck out two.

2008: Matt came out of the bullpen and had a 1-1 record with a 3.46 earned run average in 26 innings of work. He struck out 24 and walked 13 and held opponents to a team best .242 batting average.

At Franklin Academy: Matt Skelly was a three sport standout in football, hockey and baseball. He was captain, first team All Northern, a New York State Scholar-Athlete an earned first team honors as both an offensive lineman and linebacker. He was captain and first team All Northern in hockey and was captain, first team All Northern and MVP in baseball. He was a member of the Epsilon Honor Society and the National Honor Society.

2nd Annual Holiday Baseball Clinics Dec. 28-30

St. Lawrence University baseball coach Pete Hoy will conduct the 2nd Annual Holiday Baseball Clinics on the St. Lawrence campus Dec. 28-30.

Chris Haynes

A three-year regular as a catcher and first baseman for Division I LeMoyne, Christopher Haynes joins the Saint baseball staff as assistant coach.

A 2009 LeMoyne graduate, Haynes was a .290 career hitter for the Dolphins who scored 83 runs and drove in 83 runs in his career. He hit .353 as a junior with 11 doubles and seven homers, driving in 33 runs. He also had a perfect fielding percentage in 41 games as a junior.

Haynes earned scholar-athlete honors at both LeMoyne and Fayetteville-Manlius High School wshere he was a baseball and basketball athlete. He was the bullpen catcher for the Syracuse Chiefs of the International League and was a baseball camp counselor at the LeMoyne College baseball coach from 2006-2008.

 

Palermo Helps Saints to 5-4 Win over Skidmore, Tournament Called on Sunday

TROY, N.Y. (May 14) - Freshman Bryan Palermo broke a 2-2 tie with a double in the bottom of the eight inning and the St. Lawrence University baseball team held on for a, 5-4, victory over Skidmore College in an elimination game of the Liberty League Tournament, Saturday in Troy. The Saints will take on RPI, a 17-3 loser to Clarkson, in an elimination game Sunday at 9 a.m.
