Meet the Coach: Pete Hoy, Head Baseball Coach at St. Lawrence University

Peter Hoy, a former professional baseball player and the pitching coach for 12 years for Division I LeMoyne College in Syracuse was named Saint head baseball coach in the summer of 2010.

Hoy, a member of the Canadian Olympic baseball team for the Seoul Olympics in 1988, was a relief pitcher in the Boston Red Sox organization from 1989-93 and pitched for the Red Sox in 1992. He attended LeMoyne from 1986-88 and was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1988.

Hoy was the pitching coach for LeMoyne from 1997-2009 and was co-director of the LeMoyne baseball camps. He helped LeMoyne to a 361-221 record and NCAA regional appearances in 2003, 2004 and 2007. His pitching staff led the conference in team ERA five times and produced ten professional pitchers, two All America and four conference pitchers of the year. Hoy replaced veteran Saint coach Tom Fay, who retired after a 38-year career which included over 500 victories.
