Four Saints Earn Liberty League Weekly Honors

March 19: Four St. Lawrence University student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League Monday afternoon for their performances during the last week.
First-year student Kyle Plimpton of the softball team was recognized by the league for the second week in a row as she was named "Pitcher of the Week." The Buffalo, NY native went 5-2 with three saves and three shutouts during the week, including a perfect game. She accumulated 88 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched (1.79 K/per inning) and held her opponents to a 1.41 ERA.
On the men's golf team, first-year student Michael Phelan earned "Rookie of the Week" for his performance in Arizona on the Saints' spring trip. The Saranac, NY native helped his team to a runner-up finish at the Tucson International Games with rounds of 79 and 79 for a 157 total and a sixth overall finish.
On the women's lacrosse team, Brigid Hurley earned "Offensive Performer of the Week" as she led the Saints to a 2-1 record in Florida. The Penfield, NY native totaled 15 points (13g, 2a) in three games, including a career-high eight goal performance in a 15-14 win over Brockport State.
First-year student Olivia Arroyo earned "Rookie of the Week" as she helped the women's tennis team move to 7-0 with wins in Florida. The Los Angeles, CA native won all of her matches during the week as she was 3-0 at No. 3 singles and 3-0 at No. 3 doubles with teammate Anna Young.
