Four Saints Earn Liberty League Weekly Honors

Jan. 24: Four St. Lawrence University student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League Monday afternoon for their performances during the last week.
Senior co-captain Ralph Temgoua earned "Performer of the Week" as he averaged 18.0 points and 8.3 rebounds on the weekend, and led the men's basketball team to league victories over RPI and Union on the weekend. The Paris, France native recorded a double-double on Friday with 10 points and 10 rebounds, then followed that up with a career-high 31 points en route to a 68-66 win over the Dutchmen. He also added 10 assists, four steals and two blocks over the two contests.
First-year student Jamal Samaroo earned "Rookie of the Week" as he helped lead the men's track and field team to victory at the SLU Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The Brooklyn, NY native won the long jump (6.67 meters) before he won the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 13.81. He also led off the winning 4x200 relay team which ran an ECAC qualifying time of 1:33.67.
On the women's side, sophomore Victoria Bean earned "Field Performer of the Week" as she won the triple jump (10.53 meters) and was second in the long jump (4.70 meters) at the Indoor Invitational. First-year student Eliza Bell earned "Rookie of the Week" as she set a University record with her ECAC qualifying mark of 1.60 meters in the high jump. The Clinton, NY native was also third in the triple jump with a mark of 10.08 meters.
