Six Saints Earn Liberty League Weekly Honors

Jan. 17: Six St. Lawrence University student-athletes were honored by the Liberty League Monday afternoon for their performances during the last week.
Senior co-captain Katie Edgerton earned "Performer of the Week" as she led the women's basketball team to a 3-0 week, defeating Liberty League opponents Clarkson, RIT and William Smith. The Shelburne, VT native averaged 15.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while adding three steals and nine assists. She was the game-high scorer with 18 points against both the Golden Knights (55-49) and the Herons (78-63).
Also garnering honors from the women's basketball team was first-year student Kara McDuffee, who earned "Rookie of the Week". The Owego, NY native averaged 7.7 points on 7-for-11 shooting (.636) and recorded a career high 18 points as the Saints downed the Herons.
Senior Jack Knych of the men's indoor track and field team earned "Track Performer of the Week" as he won the 800-meter in 1:59.46 - currently ranked 9th nationally. The DeWitt, NY also ran the 800-meter leg of the winning DMR, which is ranked second nationally, with a time of 10:49.73.
On the women's side, sophomore Kristen Linder earned "Field Performer of the Week" as she won the weight throw at 11.64 meters and was second in the shot at 11.20 in the Ottawa Super Saturday Series.
First-year student Divya Biswal earned "Rookie of the Week" as she finished third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.82 seconds and also ran on the third place 4x200-meter relay team.
First-year student Ibriham Khan of the men's squash team earned "Rookie of the Week" as he went 2-0 in the three spot with wins over Bowdoin and Colby. The Rawalpindi, Pakistanan native did not lose a game in either match.
