The St. Lawrence University men's soccer team defeated Houghton in a non-conference away game, and first-year student Alex Laird was recognized as the conference's Co-Defensive Performer of the Week for his play.  Laird turned in another strong performance defensively from the midfield position and also scored the game-winning goal, his third goal of the season, in the 4-2.  Laird shared the honor with Eric Boole of Hamilton.

Finally, first-year students Shannon Murphy and Alex Kamakas both earned Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week status for their respective sports.

The Hopkinton, MA native won at No. 3 singles 7-5, 6-1 and at No. 2 doubles, 9-7.  Meanwhile, Kamakas was a key player for the volleyball team last week as she played very strong close to the net. She also averaged a hitting percentage of .353 on the week, including .500 against Clarkson, and .308 against Oswego State.
