A Message From the Club President

Saints Athletics

Dear Members,

As our long winter approaches an end and the snow begins to melt, the 2011 golf season will soon be here. The first sign of spring has been reported. Jim Hennessey has be sighted working in the maintenance shop getting his equipment ready for, hopefully, an early start. It is due to Jim and his crew's efforts that the St. Lawrence University Golf Course is well-known as one of the best and well-maintained courses in Northern New York. Another reason for the SLGC's reputation as a great place to play is that our membership is a welcoming, hospitable and friendly group.

On behalf of the Board of Governors, I would like to welcome our members and invite everyone to participate in the events, leagues and scrambles that are being planned for the 2011 season. The Board of Governors has already begun holding its monthly meetings to plan and conduct SLGC business. We welcome your attendance, input and suggestions on matters concerning the betterment of our club. The Board welcomes new members: Joe Keniston, Karen Dupree and John Pezdek. We would like to thank Bill Lemieux Jr. and Ingrid Tischler-DeTorres for their service as past Board members. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Guy Berard, who provided us with outstanding leadership and hard work while serving his three-year term as President.

As always, we look forward to working with Home Town Golf to provide the best golfing experience for our members and guests. One of the first events being planned is our annual "Spring Clean-Up Day." This is in accordance with our lease with St. Lawrence University. Information about this and other events will be sent as well as emailed to our members. Your participation would be greatly appreciated. Please try to include your email address on your application as we would like to use that as our main source of communication.

One again, welcome to the 2011 season at the St. Lawrence Golf Course, and we hope you have a great golfing experience.

Sincerely,

Art Quackenbush, President
