Stine Enhances NCAA Standing, Biswal Sets Record at Oneonta

Carly Stine improved her time in the 400 hurdles at Oneonta Saturday

Carly Stine moved up to 16th in the nation with a win in 1:02.48 in the 400 hurdles and Divya Biswal moved into the top 25 and into qualifying position for the NCAA Championships in the triple jump, setting the SLU record in the event at the Oneonta State Spring meet on Saturday.

Stine won the hurdles for the second straight meet and improved her standing by six spots heading into the ECAC Championships next weekend. The top 25 times in the nation make the NCAA championships.

Biswal jumped 11.60 meters to get into the top 25 and finished second in the event at Oneonta. She beat the previous mark of 11.12 held by Jessica Venezia by .48 meters.

Jessica Marini was second in the 400 hurdles in 1:04.42, Eliza Bell finished second in the high jump at 1.58 meters Ariel Beccia was seventh in the 1500 and the 4x400 relay team of Marini, Stacy Czaja, Cassia Hameline and Stine finished third in 4:03.68.
