Records Fall as Saints Compete at Cornell

Feb. 16: Divya Biswal and Ella Martin set individual records and the 4x400 relay team improved the St. Lawrence indoor track record in that event as the Saints prepped for next weekend's New York State Collegiate Track and Field Conference indoor championship with a strong showing at the Denault Invitational at Ithaca on Saturday.
Biswal improved her own record with a winning mark of 11.84 meters in the triple jump while Martin knocked 19 seconds off Wendy Pavlus' record in the 3000 meters, winning in 9:50.89. The 4x400 team of Carly Stine, Marissa Turner, Hannah Kinsey and Jess Marini rank 4:00.50, two seconds off the previous mark set in 1998.
Martin's performance in the 3000 capped a solid performance by the Saints in that event as Lizzie Edwards ran 10:10.58, Caroline Raue 10:15.57 and Ariel Beccia 10:18.39, the third, fifth and sixth best times in program history.
Other top performances by the Siants included a tie for fourth at 1.60 in the high jump by Eliza Bell and Kylie Morris, a sixth in the 60 by Kinsey in 8:15, a sixth in the 400 by Anna Pond in 1:03.66, a sixth in the triple jump by Alison Scarf and a 11th place finish in the 60 hurdles by Biswal.
