Martin Sets 2 Records, Turner Another in Holiday Relays

Dec. 8: First Year Ella Martin set Saint Holiday Relay meet records in both the mile and 3000 meters and classmate Marisa Turner set a meet and SLU record in the high jump to highlight the afternoon for the St. Lawrence University women's indoor track and field team at the Newell Field House Saturday afternoon.
Martin won the mile in 5:12.15 with Toria Koutras second and won the 3000 in 10:24.45 with Lizzy Edwards second and Caroline Raue third. Turner cleared 1.68 meters to edge sophomore teammate Eliza Bell in the high jump, eclipsing the meet record and Bell's SLU indoor mark set a year ago.
Other Saint winners on Saturday included Kristen Linder, who won the shot put with a 11.67 meter throw. Emily Rebehn, who won the triple jump with a 10.04 meter series and the 4x400 relay team of Jess Marini, Cassia Hameline, Rebehn and Teresa Grigg.
Marini was second in the 400 meters, running 1:00.37 while Allison Scarf was second and Kylee Disotelle third in the 60 hurdles. Jaleigh Pier was third by .004 in the 200 meters and ran on the second place 4x200 relay team.
Linder added a second in the weight throw at 13.06 meters and Scarf was second in the triple jump.
The Saints are now off for exams and the holidays and will return to action at the Ottawa Super Saturday meet on Jan. 12.
