Saints Lose Tight Match to Swarthmore

March 13: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team suffered a tight 5-4 loss to Swarthmore in Orlando, FL on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints, ranked #15 in the Northeast, move to 2-3 on the season, while the regionally-ranked #8 Garnet improve to 2-1.
The Saints took a 2-1 lead after doubles, with Morgan McNeal and Elizabeth Geer winning 8-4 at two, and Laura Goldhar and Samantha Miller winning 8-4 at three. However, Swarthmore claimed victories at one, three, four and six to edge St. Lawrence.
St. Lawrence's Morgan McNeal earned a win at two, defeating Emily Rosenblum, 7-5, 6-1, and Shannon Murphy defeated Katie Samuelson at five, 6-0, 2-6, 6-4.
At one, SC's Lisa Carlson defeated Elkie Vandenbeemt 6-3, 6-4, and Kelsey Johnson defeated Olivia Arroyo at three, 6-2, 6-4. Stephanie Chia topped Geer at four, 6-2, 6-3, and Jackie Lane defeated Goldhar at six, 6-1, 7-6 (0).
The Saints will take on Haverford tomorrow morning at 9:00am.
