Saints to Play Matches in Orlando Over Break

March 7: The St. Lawrence University men's and women's tennis teams will head to Orlando, FL this weekend to play several matches over the University's spring break.
"We are fortunate to have tremendous indoor facilities with the courts in Newell Field House, but the team is excited to get outside in Orlando next week," said head coach Jeremy Freeman. "The men's and women's teams will have a chance to not only practice but compete on hard courts in 80+degree weather. Spring is on its way for sure in North Country but it is nice to have this jump start."
The men's team is off to a hot start in its traditional season, posting a 6-3 win over Ithaca before blanking Div. II opponent St. Michael's College in the Newell Field house last Sunday. The squad takes a 4-1 record into next week and will look to extend its current three-match win streak when it plays The College of New Jersey, Roger Williams and Albion.
Meanwhile, the women's team, currently 1-1 on the season and regionally ranked 15th, will have a chance to make it 2-1 before heading down to Orlando to play The College of New Jersey, Swarthmore and Haverford. The Saints will look to rebound from last weekend's 5-4 loss to Ithaca when they host regionally ranked 18th New Paltz on Friday afternoon in the Newell Field House at 4:00pm.
