Apr. 20: The St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team saw a 4-3 lead turn into a 6-4 deficit thanks to three straight goals by Union's Kat Egizi, propelling the Dutchwomen to a 10-6 win over the Saints in Schenectady, NY on Friday afternoon.

The Dutchwomen (5-6 overall) are now 5-1 in the Liberty League play, while the Saints fall to 4-2 in the league and 7-5 overall.  Six different players scored for the Scarlet and Brown while senior goaltender Paige Powell made nine saves.  Union closed with a 23-17 advantage in shots and a sound 23-9 lead in ground balls.

After falling behind 2-0, the Saints rallied with three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead early in the first half.  Brigid Hurley, Margie Bailey and Stephanie O'Rourke gave the Saints the advantage, while rookie Soeurette Morley gave them a 4-3 lead with 17:25 to go in the stanza.

However, Egizi would swing the momentum in Union's favor with three goals in a 6:13 span for a 6-4 lead at intermission.

St. Lawrence would remain within two goals at 7-5 thanks to a goal from sophomore Carly VanTassel midway through the second half.  However, they would get no closer as Union outscored their opponents 3-1 in the final 16:38 of the game to win 10-6.

The Scarlet and Brown will look to earn a weekend split tomorrow, Saturday, April 21 when the team heads to Geneva, NY to take on William Smith at 3:00pm.
