RPI Remains Unbeaten, Tops Saints 12-10
Apr. 7: The St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team suffered a 12-10 setback on Saturday, as Rensselaer improved to 9-0 on the season in Troy, NY. Stephanie O'Rourke led the Saints with three goals, but Allie Arnal's 10-save performance in goal allowed the Engineers to celebrate the two-goal league victory.
St. Lawrence (4-4, 1-1) and Rensselaer (9-0, 4-0) each had 23 shots while the visitors held a narrow 20-19 edge in ground balls and a 14-10 lead in draw controls.
First-year student Soeurette Morley had two goals and three assists for the Saints, while four Engineers including Meg Colitz, Madeline Sisson, Marissa Page and Shannon Maguire each scored twice.
Rensselaer had the better of the play in the opening half and held a 6-3 advantage through 30:00 minutes. The Engineers took a 3-0 lead before senior co-captain Kendall Harty got the Saints on the scoreboard with 17:30 to play in the stanza. Though RPI took a 6-2 lead, Morley kept the visitors within striking distance with a goal to make it 6-3 to cap the first half scoring.
