Three Saints, Team Earn IWLCA Academic Honors

Aug. 31: The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its annual academic awards, and St. Lawrence University was well represented. The Saints earned team recognition for the 2011-12 academic year, while Lanni Piroli '12, Joey Kelley '13 and Stephanie O'Rourke '13 earned individual honors.
St. Lawrence has earned the team honor annually under head coach Dr. Jodi Canfield, which requires the roster to carry a minimum grade point average of 3.0 for the academic season.
"This award is very important to me as it demonstrates tremendous work ethic both on and off the lacrosse field," said Coach Canfield. "Lanni, Joey and Steph are outstanding examples of successful student-athletes at St. Lawrence."
Piroli graduated last May with a degree in psychology and a minor in sports studies and exercise science. Meanwhile, Kelley and O'Rourke return for their senior season this spring, majoring in mathematics and history, respectively.
