Dr. Schuckers’ Hockey Research Featured in “Academic Minute”

Dec. 16: St. Lawrence University Associate Professor of Statistics, Dr. Michael Schuckers, was featured today on Inside Higher Ed, WAMC public radio in Albany and a variety of public stations throughout the country. Dr. Schuckers undertook a statistical analysis of shootouts in the National Hockey League and the statistics surrounding both the shooters and goaltenders. As statistics have become increasingly important in the realm of professional sports, Dr. Schuckers has been on the forefront of analysis for the NHL. He recently worked with former women's hockey player, Lauren Brozowski '11, on analyzing the rates of penalty calls throughout the third period in NHL games.
