iPad Mini a Feature Prize at “Saints Go Social”

St. Lawrence will feature jerseys with their Twitter handles on Saturday vs. #6 Clarkson.

Feb. 1: While the St. Lawrence University women's hockey team is taking on nationally-ranked No. 6 Clarkson University tomorrow, both fans at Appleton Arena and those unable to attend will have chances to win contests in conjunction with "Saints Go Social," an event encouraging safe and fun usage of social media.

The feature prize will be for a lucky fan in attendance, as the winner of the "Chuck-A-Puck" contest at the end of the second period will win a new, white iPad mini! St. Lawrence University students with a valid ID who arrive before the end of the first period will receive a FREE puck, with remaining pucks being sold following the end of the first period to others in attendance.

"We're really excited for two big games this weekend against a great opponent," said St. Lawrence Women's Ice Hockey Head Coach Chris Wells. "Our ‘Saints Go Social' event will help our students and community members learn about new ways of communicating on social media and how to be smart and have fun while using them."

Fans can interact on social media throughout the game, using #herewegoSAINTS. Our events and contests will include:
- Twitter: Each period, one tweet including the #herewegoSAINTS hashtag will win "Tweet of the Period," earning a gift certificate to Sergi's Pizzeria for $7.20, enough for a famous pizza roll and can of soda.
- Instagram: Share your instagram pictures using #herewegoSAINTS; the chosen picture will be featured on the women's hockey web page, with the winner receiving a canvas print
- @SLUjams: Have a song you want to hear during the game? Tweet song recommendations to @SLUjams
- @SLUsaints jersey: Enter our raffle for a chance to win an @SLUsaints hockey jersey
- YouTube: In-game updates will be added to youtube.com/StLawrenceSaints to give a behind-the-bench look
- PA Announcements: All St. Lawrence PA announcements will include Twitter handles

The "Tweet of the Period" contest, youtube.com updates, jersey raffle and @SLUjams will also be featured at the men's game.

St. Lawrence faces No. 6 Clarkson today, Friday, February 1 at Cheel Arena in Potsdam at 3 p.m. The "Saints Go Social" event begins tomorrow, Saturday, February 2, with the puck set to drop at 3 p.m.
