2011-12: Desrochers became a force at the blue line for the Saints as a sophomore, totaling new career-highs in all offensive categories. The Welland, ON native scored a key goal in the series clincher against Dartmouth in the ECAC playoffs and had the game-winner against Vermont in the regular season. Mel matched her outstanding efforts off the ice, as she earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic honors.
2010-11: Desrochers was a solid addition to the Saints' corps of defensemen in her first season. The Welland, ON native finished with eight points on four goals and four assists, all of which came in the second half of the season. A member of ECAC Hockey's All-Academic team, Mel scored goals against Mercyhurst, Brown, Quinnipiac and Cornell.

Desrochers served as an assistant captain of the Stoney Creek Jr. Sabres. In 32 games played, the Welland, ON native had a pair of goals and ten helpers for 12 points. She represented Ontario playing on the Blue team at the 2009 Canadian National Championships and also participated on an All-Star team that beat Team Canada last spring. Born April 15, 1992, Mel is the daughter of Roger and Sylvie Desrochers.
