Caligiore Leads Saints at Mount Holyoke Invitational

Aimee Caligiore tied for 15th at Mount Holyoke

Sept. 22: Senior Aimee Caligiore tied for 15th overall with a 164 total and St. Lawrence University's women's golf team was ninth in the 15-team Mount Holyoke Invitational played on the 5845-yard par-72 Orchards Golf Course Saturday and Sunday.


Caligiore shot a nine-over 81 on Saturday and came back with an 83 on Sunday to lead the Saint scoring. Claire O'Neil tied for 24th with rounds of 81 and 88 for a 169 total while Maddie Moore was tied for 42nd with rounds of 93 and 90 for 183 and Kerrin Ehrensbeck shot 88 and 97 for a 185 total, tied for 59th. Kelly Hale was tied for 68th with rounds of 95 and 96 for a 191 total.


The Saints were seventh after the first round with a best four-of-five total of 343, but slipped back on Sunday to finish two strokes in front of Liberty League rival Vassar, which was 10th with a 702 total. The Saints were 14 strokes behind eighth place NYU which led the Liberty League contingent in the tournament field.


Williams College posted a four-stroke win over Merrimack and Wagner, which tied for second with Middlebury fourth at the top of the field. Williams had a two-day total of 647 with Merrimack and Wagner shooting 651 and Middlebury 654.


The Saints will play in the Wallace Invitational at Cortland next weekend.
