Aimee Caligiore was 12th at the NYU Invitational

Sept. 16: Senior Aimee Caligiore shot rounds of 78 and 83 finished tied for 12th, helping the St. Lawrence University women's golf team to an eighth place finish in the 13-team NYU Invitational played at Split Rock and Pelham Bay golf courses.


Caligiore shot six-over 78 on the 5918 yard par 72 Split Rock on Saturday and was 11 over on the 5995 yard, par 72 course at Pelham Bay on Sunday.


The Saints, tied for seventh after the first round, slipped back to eighth, five strokes behind Vassar in the team standings. Williams won the event with a 624 total while Middlebury was second at 640 and Amherst third at 641.


Claire O'Neil shot matching rounds of 83 on the two courses to finish tied for 24th, Maddie Moore shot rounds of 91 and 88 and finished 44th while Kerrin Ehrensbeck shot 90 and 92 and was 46th. Taylor Thompson shot 102 in her opening round and came back with her best collegiate round thus far in the second round, shooting 94 to tie for 60th.


The Saints will play in the Mt. Holyoke Invitational Sept. 22-23.
