Hulton, Howard Earn Liberty League Honors

Dec. 1: St. Lawrence University senior co-captain Jenna Hulton and the St. Lawrence University women's cross country coaching staff have both been honored by the Liberty League for their accomplishments during the 2011 season.
Hulton put the finishing touches on a stellar senior year by earning All-America honors for the second time in her collegiate career at the NCAA Championship race in Winneconne, WI. The East Aurora, NY native was 34th overall in the national race, leading the Saints to eighth place in the team standings. Hulton, who was also the Liberty League's Rookie of the Year in 2008, won three times this fall, including both the Liberty League and NYSCTC Championships.
Meanwhile, head coach Mike Howard earned his 19th career Coaching Staff of the Year award from the conference, which includes both cross country and track and field. He and his assistant coach, Kate Curran, guided St. Lawrence to the program's third consecutive Atlantic Regional title this fall, with Howard earning both regional and state Coach of the Year honors along the way. Despite his team having graduated two-time national champion Wendy Pavlus and losing sophomore standout Amanda Moreland to injury, Howard guided his team to eighth place at the NCAA Championship.
