Laura Brandimarte scored from just outside the box with 4:19 gone in the second overtime period to give Hamilton College a 1-0 Liberty League women's soccer victory over St. Lawrence University Saturday afternoon.

Saint goalie Abby van Geldern held her team in the game with a 12-save afternoon as Hamilton outshot the Saints 26-12 in the game and had a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

Hamilton had five shots in the two overtime periods and finally cashed in when Brandimarte scored her first of the year from 25 yards out. Brandimarte gained possession of the ball about 35 yards from the goal midway through the second overtime. She dribbled the ball off a Saints defender and maintained possession going forward. Before another defender could reach her, Brandimarte unleashed a hard shot from 25 yards away that sailed over goalkeeper van Geldern and settled into the top right-hand corner of the net.

"Once again we p;layed with a lot of heart and desire...I couldn't have asked for more from the team. They gave it there all the entire weekend," said Saint coach Franco Bari.

"It was a tough weekend for the team and we certainly gutted it out. When you take the number four team in the country into OT, you're going to feel it the next day."

Hamilton improves to 6-4-0 overall and 3-2-0 in league play while the Saints are 6-5-3 overall and 1-3-1 in the Liberty League heading into a non-league game at Ithaca next weekend.
