Saints Earn 2009 IWLCA Academic Squad Honors

The Saints were one of 62 teams to earn IWLCA Academic Squad honors in 2009.

Sept. 1:  The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced that the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team was one of 62 Division III institutions to receive 2009 Academic Squad honors.

To be recognized as an Academic Squad, the Saints boasted a collective GPA of 3.0 or greater for the 2008-09 academic year. 

"This is a wonderful and important award because it shows the academic strength of the entire squad," said St. Lawrence women's lacrosse Head Coach Jodi Canfield.  "I am very proud to say that we have earned this distinction each year during my tenure."

Four members of the Saints' 2009 team were honored by the Liberty League, as they earned a spot on the All-Academic team.  Those players included Brittany Misercola '09, Courtney Hendrick '10, Anna Parrott '10 and Mary Jane Sweetland '10.
