Pike Named Assistant Coach for 2010 Season

Aug. 25: St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse head coach Jodi Canfield has announced that Ashley Pike, a 2007 graduate of Syracuse University, will join the Saints' coaching staff as an assistant for the 2010 season.
Pike, a native of Watertown, NY, received her degree in Sports Management after an outstanding career with the Orange's women's lacrosse program. A four year starter, Pike was a Third Team National All-America and a First Team All-Region selection in her senior year. While at Syracuse, Pike was part of a team that won the 2007 Big East Championship and advanced to the NCAA Elite 8.
"Ashley (Pike) brings a wealth of playing experience and great knowledge of the game to the assistant coach position," added Coach Canfield. "Her passion for lacrosse will help continue to build our program in a competitive conference."
Pike, who served as a volunteer assistant coach for Syracuse University last season, was an offensive force during her senior season. Mainly a defensive midfielder and goalkeeper her first three seasons with the Orange, Pike recorded 52 points on 44 goals and eight assists after totaling only eight points and four goals her first three years at Syracuse. Her 44 goals in 2007 are tied for the seventh-highest total in school history.
