St. Lawrence University's women's golf team placed all four of its scorers in the top ten and took the team title in the 14-team Mt. Holyoke Invitational on Sunday.

The Saints finished with a best four-of-five team score of 643 after a round of 321 on Sunday, for an impressive 12-stroke win over Amherst College. Williams was third with a 667 total and Division I Fairfield was fourth with a 670 total.

The Saints, ranked 11th nationally in Division III, beat the fifth and sixth ranked teams nationally in Amherst and Williams.

"This win makes a huge statement for our women's program," said Saint coach Mary Lawrence. "At this point it is probably the biggest in-season tournament win in our program history. We have a very good team and when everyone puts it together there aren't many Division III teams we can't compete with."

Rookie Aimee Caligiore led the Saints, finishing tied for second overall with rounds of 80 and 78 for a 158 total in a 81-player field. Saint senior Kristin Berretta was the first round leader and finished fourth overall with a 76-83-159 total while sophomore Melissa Snizek was seventh with rounds of 80 and 82 for a 162 total and junior Alair Muzzatti finished tied for 10th with rounds of 80 and 84 for a 164 total. Cait Cunningham shot 93-89 for a 36-hole total of 182 and was tied for 42nd.

The Saints will play in the Middlebury Invitational next weekend.
