  • May 22: Former Union College and professional hockey goaltender Kris Mayotte has been named men's ice hockey assistant coach at St. Lawrence University.

  • May 21: St. Lawrence University junior outfielder Carter Franz earned first team ABCA/Rawlings All Region honors and Khifer O'Connor and Paul Piatelli were named to the second team in voting by the region's coaches.

  • St. Lawrence University's 4x100 relay of Adrian Wilson, Jarell Roberts, Omaru Kabia and Jamal Samaroo ran 41.98 seconds and finished third at the 2012 ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at RPI on Friday.

  • Eliza Bell won the high jump with a leap of 1.69 meters, a St. Lawrence record and Divya Biswal improved her own St. Lawrence record and moved into the top 20 for the upcoming NCAA Championships in the triple jump on Thursday at the ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at RPI while Carly Stine improved her seed time by .02 of a second with a second place finish in the 400 intermediate hurdles on Friday.

  • May 16: The St. Lawrence University women's basketball program has announced its 2016 recruiting class that is set to join the Saints for the 2012-13 season. The class consists of four excellent student-athletes, including Gabi Hahn, Lauren Quattrocchi, Julia Raue and Amanda Roberts.

  • May 16:  Two members of the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team have been recognized by the Liberty League for their performances throughout the 2011-12 season.  Senior Hillary Drewry and first-year student Elkie Vandenbeemt were both named All-League in singles, as well as All-League as a doubles team.  

  • Skidmore College pitchers Max Martins and Jordan Keysor shut down the Liberty League's most prolific offense, holding St. Lawrence University to four hits as the Thoroughbreds completed a run through the losers bracket with a 3-1 win over the Saints for the 2012 Liberty League Baseball Tournament Championship on Tom Fay Field Sunday afternoon.

  • Carly Stine moved up to 16th in the nation with a win in 1:02.48 in the 400 hurdles and Divya Biswal moved into the top 25 and into qualifying position for the NCAA Championships in the triple jump, setting the SLU record in the event at the Oneonta State Spring meet on Saturday.

  • Freshman Jamal Samaroo was part of two St.Lawrence University track and field record performances on Saturday at the Oneonta State Spring meet as he ran on the record setting 4x100 relay and set the SLU record in the triple jump.

  • May 12: St. Lawrence University's baseball team gave Skidmore College six unearned runs in game six of the 2012 Liberty League Championship Tournament on Tom Fay Field and as a result, will have to play a second game against Skidmore Sunday at noon to determine the 2012 tournament champion and the automatic NCAA bid that goes with the tourney title.

  • St. Lawrence University's baseball team put up eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to overcome a 3-0 RPI lead and went on to a 11-7 win over the Engineers in game four of the 2012 Liberty League Championship tournament advancing to a potential championship game at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

  • Junior center fielder Carter Franz hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning and sophomore Joe Riley pitched four innings of scoreless relief as St. Lawrence University's baseball team advanced in the Liberty League tournament with a 10-8 win over the University of Rochester on Friday.

  • St. Lawrence University's baseball game against the University Rochester in the first round of the Liberty League tournament was halted with Rochester leading 8-7 after five innings on Thursday afternoon.


  • Fairfield, CT -- May 10, 2012 by L.A. Pomeroy -- Never before in its 39-year history had an Intercollege Horse Show Associate hunter seat team coach won two IHSA National Championships for two different colleges or universities.

  • St. Lawrence University baseball coach Pete Hoy has been named Liberty League Coach of the Year and eight members of the 2012 Liberty League regular season champion Saints have been named 2012 Liberty League All Stars.

  • St. Lawrence University's women's soccer team conducted its annual end of the year awards ceremony and honored the Class of 2012 on April 27 and followed that with a men's and women's alumni golf outing on Saturday morning and the annual alumnae game on Saturday afternoon.

  • May 7: The St. Lawrence University women's crew, nationally-ranked No. 12, concluded two days of competition at the New York State Championships Sunday at Whitney Point, NY. Both the varsity 8 and second varsity 8 posted fifth place finishes in their respective events.

  • May 7: The St. Lawrence University men's crew concluded two days of competition at the New York State Championships Sunday, highlighted by a second-place finish by the novice 8.

  • St. Lawrence University's baseball team rallied from a 5-2 first game deficit to win 6-5 with a run in the bottom of the ninth in game one of a Liberty League doubleheader with arch-rival Clarkson and then completed the Sunday sweep, winning the Liberty League regular season championship in the process, with a 13-1 romp in game two.

  • May 6: Fans will have the opportunity to listen to Sunday's doubleheader between St. Lawrence University and Clarkson University on the web during a free broadcast beginning at 11:55am.

  • May 5: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team fell to nationally-ranked #27 Vassar in the Liberty League Tournament Semifinal at the Josselyn Tennis Courts in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Saints, ranked #16 in the Northeast, conclude their season with a 13-4 record.

  • St. Lawrence University's baseball team heads into the final day of regular season competition a half-game out of the Liberty League lead after a doubleheader split at Clarkson on Saturday.
