Saints Finish 9th After Final Day of UNYSCSA Championships

Junior Hannah Grimes took 12th in the 200 Yard Breaststroke consolation heat Saturday.

Feb. 21:  The St. Lawrence University Women's Swimming and Diving Team earned a total of 420.5 points to finish 9th after the final day of competition in the UNYSCSA Championships Saturday concluding their regular season meets. 

Sophomore Molly Lunn had another impressive performance in the 200 Yard Butterfly, finishing 8th place overall.  The Norwell, MA native earned a time of 2:13.61, dropping another two tenths of a second off her preliminary time, leading to approximately a nine second time drop from her original seed time.  First-year Maria Anselmi also competed in the same event and finished 16th place overall.

Junior Hannah Grimes also had a solid performance on the last day of competition as she grabbed 12th place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke consolation final.  The Hamden, CT native dropped roughly another two seconds off her prelim time to finish the race in 2:31.88. 

Sophomore Brynn Hagen  placed 16th in the 200 Yard Backstroke, earning a personal best time of  2:16.15 and dropping an impressive three seconds off her seed time.  First-year Casey Abribat followed directly behind Hagen placing 17th, dropping approximately five seconds off her seed time, with a new time of 2:17.37.

Sophomore Katie Spakowski and senior Kate Waters also earned back-to-back finishes in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with Spakowski claiming 21st place and Waters securing 22nd
