Rettstatt Paces Saint Women's Win at Clarkson

Olivia Rettstatt was a double winner at Clarkson Friday

Nov. 1: St. Lawrence University's women's swimming and diving team won the first 10 events in Friday's dual meet at Clarkson and had the top time in the other two contested events swimming exhibition as the Saints improved to 2-1 on the season with a 134.5-66.5 win over the Golden Knights. Clarkson gained a split on the afternoon, winning the men's meet 128-71.

Olivia Rettstatt was a double winner for the Saints, capturing the 200 IM in 2:42.24 and the 400 free in 4:58.56. Rettstatt led a sweep of the top three spots in the 400 as Molly Spakowski was second and Caitlin Wiederecht finished third.


The team of Molly Sneden, Staci Czaja, Carly Berizzi and Casey Abribat won the 200 medley relay in 2:15.17 to open the meet. Abribat won the 200 free in 2:20.93, Caroline Winslow won the 800 free in 10:25.39 with Wiederecht second, Cazja led a sweep in the 50 free, winning in 30:43 with Jane Moreau second and Sneden third. Moreau came back to win the 100 fly in 1:20.82. Courtney Goodrich won the 100 back in 1:15.87 with Berizzi second and Sneden third and Nikki Jewett won the one meter diving with a score of 157.35.

Samantha Moffitt won the 100 free in 1:04.34 and anchored the 200 free relay which had the top time of 2:00.71 with Berizzi, Czaja and Zinnia Smith also swimming on the team which swam exhibition. The Saint trio of Smith, Elizabeth Canne and Abribat had the top three times in the 100 breaststroke swimming exhibition.

Tad Deatly won the 800 free in 9:35.30 with Alex Root second for the men, Michael Orlando won the one and three meter diving and Matt Bauer scored first in the 100 breast stroke. The team of Root, Grant Reeder, Orlando and Bauer scored first in the 200 free relay in 1:54.90.

Reeder was second in the 100 back, Jason Dutra was third in the 50 and 100 free and Root added a third in the 400 free for the Saint men, now 0-3.
