Three Saints Earn Weekly Honors

Melissa Rogers '11 earned "Co-Performer of the Week" for her efforts during the past week.

March 21:  Three St. Lawrence University softball players earned weekly honors for their efforts during the last week.  

Senior co-captain Melissa Rogers earned "Co-Performer of the Week" as she finished the Saints' spring trip with a .393 batting average and a .607 slugging percentage.  The Clarence, NY native concluded the week with 11 hits in 28 at bats, including three doubles and a home run, 10 runs and six RBI's.

Sophomore Liz McGinley earned "Co-Pitcher of the Week" as she compiled a 3-0 record in Florida, striking out 23 while walking only four batters.  The Canastota, NY native pitched 28.2 innings and surrendered 10 earned runs. 

First-year student Leslie Stratton earned "Co-Rookie of the Week" honors as she finished the week with nine hits, six of which went for extra bases, six RBI's and a .456 slugging percentage.  The Bedford, NH native was also solid in the field, posting a .951 fielding percentage on 41 chances. 

The Saints, who concluded their spring trip with an even 6-6 record, will open at home on Wednesday, March 30th at 3:00pm against Elmira College (weather permitting).
