Atkins Returns As Assistant Softball Coach

Amy Atkins '10 was named the Saints assistant softball coach.

Feb. 10:  Amy Atkins, a former St. Lawrence University softball standout, returns to her Alma Mater as the assistant softball coach for the 2011 season.  

A 2010 graduate, Atkins was a four year starter in the outfield, earning 2nd Team All-Conference honors her junior season and 1st Team All-Conference honors her senior season.  In her tenure at St. Lawrence, she played in 117 games, tallying 90 hits in 305 at bats, 41 runs, and 42 RBIs.  In her senior season, she tied the University home run record and closed out her career with a .295 batting average. 

Atkins, a native of Berne, NY, graduated Magna Cum Laude in May of 2010 with degrees in Fine Arts and Environmental Studies.  As an undergraduate, she served as a writing mentor for the first year program and a Fine Art teaching assistant.  Atkins also participated in the study abroad program, spending the fall of 2008 semester in Italy.
