Softball Program

The Saints play a 12-game schedule during their annual spring trip to Ft. Myers, FL.

Molly Swan '10 was named a Liberty League First Team infielder in 2009 and 2010.

St. Lawrence University's softball team has captured two New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association championships in its 10-year history. Three Saint players have earned Regional All-America honors. Meredith Eisenhut was a two-time Regional All-American and a two-time Conference Player of the Year.

The Class of 2010 had a record-breaking year for the Saints.  Senior captain Molly Swan and fellow classmate Amy Atkins tied the University career home run record and set a new single-season mark in that category. Swan earned Liberty League All-Conference honors and finished top-5 in the league in Slugging Pct., RBI's, home runs, doubles, and triples. Emilie Lannamann and Jessica Manderfield joined their classmates Swan and Atkins in earning All-Conference Honors, while teammates Elizabeth McGinley, Chelsea Cavellier, and Rachel Duffany were recognized by the league as well.       

Academically, the Saints have graduated several Phi Beta Kappa electees, while numerous players have been awarded All-Conference academic honors. Two Saints, Eisenhut and Erin Lloyd, have been chosen by the University as Senior Scholar-Athletes for their successes on the field and in the classroom. Michele Circelli was named First-Year Scholar-Athlete in her rookie year.  In 2009, five Saints earned National All-Academic Honors.

The Saints start their season with a fall program for those softball players who are not involved in a fall sport, and begin preparations for their Spring Break Florida trip with training in Leithead Field House in February. The team typically plays 12 games on its southern trip and continues with a strong regional schedule upon its return north. Included on the Saint slate are games against perennial state power St. John Fisher, along with the Liberty League foes Rensselaer, Rochester, Skidmore and Union.
