    Entering her 14th season as Saint field hockey coach, Fran Grembowicz has established the Saints among the region's top programs, tying the SLU record with 14 wins en route both the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association tournament title and the ECAC Mid-Atlantic field hockey championship in 2000 and leading her team to the NCAA regional final in 2001. Under her guidance, the Saints were Liberty League regular-season co-champions in 2006, 2008 and 2009.

    Her teams have been .500 or better for the last 10 of the last 11 seasons and have a 123-66 record in that span, boosting her career record at St. Lawrence to 138-84 (.623) in field hockey.

    Her teams made three straight post-season appearances from 2000-2002 and her team won its second ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship in three years in '02. The Saints were Liberty League tournament finalists in 2004, 2006 and 2007. She was conference Coach of the Year in 2001 and shared that honor in 2008 and was one of the coaches for the North team in the North-South Senior All Star game in 2004.

    Also the coach of the Saint softball program, one she built from the ground up, and her team was 2000 conference champion and 2001 conference runner-up. She began her Saint coaching career as women's basketball coach, and laid the foundation for a program which emerged as one of the top small college programs in the East.

    Chelsea Plimpton, a former pitching standout at Fordham University, joined the St. Lawrence University softball coaching staff in the fall of 2011.   

    A 2011 graduate, Plimpton became a primary starter for the Rams after transferring from St. John's University.  The East Amherst, NY native compiled a 40-16 record and a 1.89 ERA over her three season career at Fordham.  She threw her first career no-hitter against Princeton in March of her senior season and followed that with a big victory over then #25-ranked Syracuse.      

    Plimpton also served as a coach at the Canisius College Softball Pitching Camp in Buffalo, NY. Prior to joining the Saints staff, Plimpton served as an intern at Katz Media Group in New York City.
