Saints Advance Six to Zones

Mar. 20: St. Lawrence University's riding team will be well represented at the Zone II Championships on April 10th , as seven riders advanced from the 2010 Hunt Seat Regional Championships held at the Elsa Gunnison Appleton Riding Hall on Saturday.
The top three teams from the zone competition will advance to nationals.
Junior Suzanne Snyder won Open Equitation on the Flat to qualify for Zones and is the Region's Caccicone Cup rider as the High Point Rider for the year. Sophomore Abby Cook followed suit with a win in the Intermediation Equitation on the Flat and put on another solid performance in the Open Equitation Event with a third place finish. Senior Laura Brown qualified in two events, finishing as the reserve champion behind Cook in the Intermediation Equitation on the Flat and third in the Novice Equitation over Fences.
Junior Hadley Deming was also named the reserve champion in the Intermediate Equitation over Fences event, while junior Jordan Koivu was reserve champion in the Novice Equitation on the Flat. Sophomore Kathryn Buccelli also advanced to Zones with a third place finish in the Walk Trot Canter Equitation, followed by junior Amber Latza who was the other Saint to qualify with a third place finish in the Walk Trot Equitation.
