April 23: Suzanne Snyder finished in the top five in the team competition and Hadley Deming had a top ten finish as an individual as the St. Lawrence University riding team opened competition in the 2009 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship Show at Middle Tennessee State University on Thursday.
The Saints finished 12th in the team standings in the race for the Collegiate Cup thanks to Snyder's fifth place finish in Open Equitation on the Flat. Only the top six riders in each team class score and 18 teams are represented in the Collegiate Cup competition.
Deming was the only Saint to finish in the top ten in individual competition on Thursday as she was ninth in individual Novice Equitation on the Flat.
Katharine Hankin rode for the Cacchione Cup as Region II High Point Rider and scored a total of 151 points in the two phases of the event, finishing tied for 19th..
