Dan Ramsey was named Liberty League Track Performer of the Year

St. Lawrence University junior Dan Ramsey was named the 2010 Liberty League Outdoor Track Performer of the Year in voting by the league coaches, completing a sweep of the top awards for track and cross country athletes in the Liberty League for the season.

Ramsey's award is another highlight in a 2009-10 season which saw the Saints men's team finish 10th in the USTFCCCA Program of the Year standings which honors teams which place in the NCAA Division III cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field championships.

Ramsey earned All America honors in each of the three seasons in the 2009-10 academic year, finishing eighth in the NCAA 5k outdoors. He also ran in the NCAA 10,000. He was NYSCTC champion in the 5k in 15:11.46 and was Liberty League 1500 meter champion. He was a three time Liberty League Track Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season.

He is just the third St. Lawrence athlete in program history to earn All America honors in all three seasons in the same year, joining Marty Dumoulin in 1987 and Kris Enwright, who accomplished the same feat in 2002.

Ramsey was the Liberty League co-Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and was the Liberty League Runner of the Year in cross country for the sweep of the league's awards as a junior. He was Liberty League Rookie of the Year in both indoor and outdoor track as a freshman.
