Saints Men's Track and Field Program

Merrick-Pinkard Track
Newell FIeld House indoor track facility

One of the top Division III men's indoor and outdoor track and field programs in New York State, St. Lawrence University's men's teams annually rank among the best in the power rankings in the Atlantic Region and have been well represented in major meets including the NCAA Division III Championships.

The Saint team was 2009 New York State Collegiate Track and Field Conference indoor champions and won its second straight ECAC indoor championship. The Saints had five qualifiers for the 2009 NCAA indoor and outdoor championships. In addition to their success in competition, Saint athletes have annually been recognized by both the Liberty League and the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for academic accomplishment through All-Academic teams.

The Saint teams train and compete at one of the finest small-college track and field complexes in the national. Newell Field House provides an eight-lane 200-meter track with throw and jump facilities on the infield while Merrick-Pinkard Track is a nine-lane 400-meter outdoor facility which includes jump pits, javelin runways and shot and discus circles with a hammer facility just a short walk away. The complex hosted the 2003 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and the New York State Public High School Championships in 2006, and both Saint facilities have hosted many NYSCTC, Liberty League and ECAC Indoor Championships.
