Saints Edge Nazareth, 5-4

April 22: The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team earned a 5-4 win over Nazareth College in Pittsford, NY on Sunday afternoon. Down 4-3, the final two singles matches come out on top to secure the victory.
Sophomore Matt Burke defeated Nick Lord at No.5 by the score of 6-1,6-3, and first-year student Sam Mullin battled back from a set down at No. 6 (6-7(1),6-1,6-3), clinching his match and the victory for the Saints.
First-year student Alan Shortz picked up the other singles win for the Saints at No. 2, defeating his opponent 6-2,6-4.
Junior Michael Hayden teamed up with first-year student Thomas Luchars to win at No. 1 doubles, 9-7, while junior Tom Timpone and senior Chris Rogers were victorious at No. 3, 8-4. Shortz and Burke were edged by their opponent at No. 2, 9-8(6).
The Saints will travel to Geneva, NY on the April 28th for the Liberty League Championships.
