Pearson Reaches Consolation Semifinals at Individual Nationals

Nick Pearson made the consolation semifinals at the CSA Individual Nationals in March.

St. Lawrence University junior Nick Pearson advanced to the Molloy Division consolation semifinals in the College Squash Association individual nationals at Williams College last weekend.
Pearson, who completed his season with a 15-9 record, lost his opening match to Will Morris of Williams, 9-6, 9-6, 9-6. He then beat Pedro Souza 9-7, 9-3, 10-8 in the first round of the consolation bracket; Jose Calderon 9-2, 9-2, 9-3 in the second round and Rob McCarey 9-7, 9-6, 8-9, 0-9 10-8 in the quarterfinals before losing to Jeremy Hermanne 9-2, 3-9, 9-7, 9-3 in the semifinals.


Sophomores Alex Dodge and Tyler Stout also competed in the tournament with Dodge losing to Robby Berner of Yale, who went on to the Molloy semifinals, 9-2, 9-4, 9-4. Dodge lost his opening match in the consolation round to David Funk 9-7, 7-9, 9-5, 9-3. Stout lost in the main draw to Frank Cohen of Harvard and dropped his consolation round opener to Sam Gould 4-9, 9-3, 9-6, 5-9, 9-3.
