#2 Saints Defeat Golden Eagles, 2-0

Sep. 15: The St.
Lawrence University men's soccer team, ranked No. 2 nationally, defeated
the College at Brockport, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon to improve to 6-0 on the season.
St. Lawrence got on the board in the 34th minute when senior captain
Sam DeMello scored his sixth goal of the season. First-year student Ryan Grant beat his
defender on the wing and served a perfectly played cross. DeMello dove towards the ball and headed it
into the corner to put his team up 1-0.
In the 70th minute, first-year student Dan Hunt found sophomore Jeremiah Bunton who scored his first goal of the season. Bunton received the ball at the top of the 18 and fired a hard shot inside the post to bring the score to 2-0.
The Saints outshot the Golden Eagles 24-7 on the day. Senior Nate Goss-Woliner earned the shutout as he made two saves. Casey Sullivan had seven saves for Brockport.
St. Lawrence will travel to Skidmore College to open up Liberty League play on Saturday, Sep. 22 before returning home on Sunday to take on SUNY Canton in a non-conference match-up.
