Alumni Win 2007 Men's Open Indoor League
Jeff Barclay '84 is one of two former Saints soccer players who participate in the Men's Open Indoor League in Manchester, Vermont each spring. In 2007, his team, Pinkus Chiropractic, took top honors in the league, and Barclay found himself alongside former teammate Ward Kane '83.
"Ward and I were reunited via our team after 20 years or so!" says Barclay. "My first year here, he was down in Costa Rica with his family (where he is again this year), then the next year he showed up for the first game. ‘Is that you, Ward?' I said. And then we played the next two years together."
Brenton Pinkus, the captain of the squad, played for Crystal Palace back in the early 90s.
Others on the team include Bob Jenkins, Duke Class of '86, who is currently the US U-18 Men's team coach.
"We beat several local college teams that were in our league," Barclay said. "Not bad for a bunch of old men."
