The 2011 Saints Men's Soccer Alumni Game was certainly an event to remember! A substantial crowd gathered around Sandy MacAllaster Field. A handful of Saints Alumni that were not able to play due to injury were able to view the match from the tremendous comfort and shade provided by the SS Sun Seeker, an RV commandeered and captained by alumnus Eric Bunyan '04. The Alumni Game, as always, demonstrated the profound importance of connecting the trinity of soon-to-be Saints, current Saints, and Saints Alumni through the game we love. The "beautiful game" once again brought us all together for an unforgettable experience of uniting the past, present, and future of the Saints Men's Soccer Program.

Tradition and customs will always be revered and refined; this process has been a natural occurrence in our global society for centuries. Acknowledging and adding to established tradition therefore is a historical catalyst for continued success. ‘Customs' and ‘tradition' has played a significant part in the achievements of the Men's Soccer Program. St. Lawrence Tradition is celebrated annually when former saints come marching in from all parts of the world. Such gatherings over prior years have offered much by way of providing an environment for the tenured Saints (Alums) of the program to share their experiences with current varsity squad. By default therefore, the same was expected of this year's gathering.

It's hard to believe that Canton, New York sees anything but subzero temperatures and snow, but in the latter part of April this year, the snow had melted and the sun was beaming on Sandy MacAllaster Field in preparation for what is commonly referred to as ‘D' Day by both current and former Saints soccer standouts, as the afternoon brought together players of yesteryear and today for a 90 minute matchup, one where the alums hoped to reckon with today's young squad and avenge the last year's loss.
