Flanagan, Martin Earn ECAC Hockey Honors

Kyle Flanagan was named third team All ECAC

St. Lawrence University junior Kyle Flanagan was named to the third-team ECAC Hockey All Star team and freshman Chris Martin was named to the All Rookie Team as the 2012 awards were announced in Atlantic City on Thursday night.

Additionally, retiring Saint coach Joe Marsh was honored by the league and its coaches for his contributions to the league and the game.Click here for video.

Flanagan shared the Saint scoring lead as a junior with 14 goals and 22 assists for 37 points. He tied for eighth overall among ECAC players in scoring despite missing eight games due to injury. He scored nine power play goals, a shorthanded goal and had two game winners and became the first Saint junior since T.J. Trevelyan in 2004-05 to meet or pass the 100 point career scoring mark. Flanagan has 31 goals and 69 assists in 99 career games.

Martin was the third leading scorer for the Saints in his rookie season, scoring 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points. He had three power play goals. He finished in the top 30 overall among all ECAC scorers and tied for second in freshman scoring overall.
