Janpeter Brase '14 had 14 points against Vassar on Friday night.

Jan. 11:  Andrew Adkins' jumper with 1.7 seconds remaining capped a 6-0 run over the final 3:00 minutes that gave Vassar College a 48-47 win over St. Lawrence University in Liberty League action on Friday night in the Burkman Gymnasium.  The Brewers, who trailed the entire game until gaining the lead in the final two seconds, improved to 5-6 on the season and 1-1 in conference action.  The Saints, led by junior Janpeter Brase's 14 points, suffer the loss, moving to 3-8 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

St. Lawrence, which shot 41% in the opening stanza, built a 27-17 advantage at half time.  Vassar, however, slowly chipped away at the deficit.   Luka Laden hit a jumper with 1:40 remaining that brought the visitors to within one, 47-46.  Both teams came up empty in their following two possessions, and with :35 seconds left, a Saint turnover gave the Brewers another chance at the win.

Sophomore Brady Condlin took a big charge with :12 seconds left to give the Saints  the opportunity to put the game away, but the Brewers buckled down on defense and forced a team turnover with the score still at 47-46.

The Brewers inbounded the ball and found Alex Snyder, who dribbled to the baseline and skipped a pass to Adkins, who hit the jumper with 1.7 seconds on the clock to put his team up 48-47.  Vassar was able to put the game away and escape with the come-from-behind road victory.

St. Lawrence will look to rebound from tonight's loss against Bard tomorrow in the Burkman Gymnasium.  Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00pm.
