Saints Compete at ITA Championships

Sept. 30: The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team dropped its opening-round matches at the 2011 USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championship, hosted by Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
In singles play, sophomore Matt Burke fell to 9-16 seeded Shota Tasaki of Steven's Institute by the scores of 6-1, 6-0.
First-year student Tom Luchars fell to Hunter College's Luis Quintero by the scores of 6-0, 6-1, while classmate John Megas was unable to make his way past 9-16 seeded Jarrett Regier of RPI and fell by the scores of 6-2, 6-0.
Megas and Luchars teamed up in doubles but were defeated by No. 2 seeded duo Ben and Andrew Guzick of Vassar by the score of 8-3.
This concludes the fall season for the young Saints, who look forward to dual matches in the spring season.
