Saints Fall To Brown in CSA Nationals 15-16 Match

St. Lawrence University's men's squash team went into the 2010 College Squash Association team championships seeded 16th and finished in that spot after a 7-2 loss to Brown in New Haven, CT on Sunday.
The 14th ranked Bears needed to go beyond three games in four of their seven wins against the Saints, who were hoping for a better showing in the tournament. SLU finishes its season at 12-11.
Brown swept the top four matches, Brad Thompson beating the Saints' Scott Phillips 3-0 at one, Adrian Leanza over Amay Merchant 3-1 at two, Ben Clayman turned back Alex Dodge 3-1 at three and Patrick Davis beat Jermaine Xaba 3-0 at four.
Tyler Stout earned a victory for the Saints at five, beating Adam Greenberg 3-2. Greenberg was up 2-1 after three games, but Stout won game four 11-6 and game five 11-9 for the match victory.
Eamon O'Connor beat Nick Pearson 3-1 at six and Chris Holter was a 3-1 winner over SLU's Michael Badali at seven with Thoma Kraft picking up the second Saint win with a 3-2 win over William Bryan at eight. Kraft lost game one 11-9, won the second game 13-11, lost game three 11-6, but took the match with 11-9 and 11-7 wins in games four and five.
Alex Heitzman of Brown beat the Saints Russell Woeltz 3-0 in the match at nine.
